I agree with this completely. But the thing that I am wondering about the most is how does the master chief know how to operate halo's controls? In the book Halo: The Flood, he somehow just knows how to operate the control panels. Cortana doesn't know which buttons to push, and when she asks chief how he knew, (after he already operated them perfectly) he says he isn't sure how, he just knew which one to push! This is strange to say the least. I am convinced that this is a major plot point and not just something thrown in as an afterthought. Think about it, somehow the master chief has an "odd familiarity" with the controls on halo. I am still not sure why, but I think that maybe the forerunners do equal humanity. Or at the very least humanity is a client race, (although I don't think this is quite as interesting). This would explain why 343 GS thinks the master chief is a "reclaimer", (who was on halo the last time it was fired) and why the prophets are so bent on destroying humanity instead of conquering them, (strange for a race that is constantly trying to find new technology instead of creating it). Or maybe, through some kind of weird plot twist, (time travel maybe) he was the one that set off the halo once before (after???) as 343 GS says, ("Why would you hesitate to do what you have already done?"). Or maybe chief is just semi-psycic. :p I don't know for sure, but I would love to hear any ideas anyone has. | |
