I don't know what that is, but I'm guessing its a similar idea to the "jump portal" suggestion. I haven't read FOR, so I know basically nothing about the propulsion systems used by Humans and Covenant. I gather that a starships engines are able to somehow "bore" into this "slipstream" type of space.
