Because they would turn into Blizzard or Id. Bungie got to be one of the top gaming studios in the industry by making the game they wanted to make, not by giving in to *anyone*'s demands. Bungie made Myth instead of Marathon 3 because they realized it was a cooler idea than yet another Marathon game, despite huge demand for another Marathon, and Myth turned into an even bigger success and is at least as good a game. : Bungie fanboys, do not reply. I have owned almost every Bungie game since : Marathon and I am greatly disappointed that the company has such a : stubborn stance regarding Xbox Live. Devoting resources to Halo 2 is not : a good enough excuse for this loyal customer. They do not have a "stubborn" stance; they are just making a brand-new game designed around it. No one is stopping you from ignoring Halo 2 and continuing to play Halo 1 until your hands fall off, if you really prefer the original. I am a loyal customer and fanboy because they have proven, time and again, that they know how to make awesome games better than I do. Therefore I am more than willing to give them all the time they want to perfect whatever they are working on, because I'm sure it will kick ass when it's eventually done. (P.S. I own every single Bungie game since Minotaur :P)
