Now there is a new war on the horizon." Unfortunately, no matter how unique the story is, it isn't. Halo and other science-fiction stories are not completely original, ever. So the story of a genetically altered or "unnatural selection" could apply to Halo and a zillion other stories. I can't say if it is true or not. Whether some of the pictures of creatures in the digital ashcan section remind me of the Flood, etc. -- It all could be just coincidence. However, if I try to take the unique aspects (what I see as unique), I might be able to get a bigger picture of how Hip Flask could relate to Halo. Hip Flask is an anthropomorphic hippo with a private eye look. In order to make Flask be capable, he needed hands with opposable thumbs. Take a look at the Covenant, their feet don't match their hands. If anything tells me that there's been some genetic fooling around, it's that. Nature likes symetry. Something is just a bit strange to me about this.
