I'll spoil it for you right now. This guy was talking about editing the save files, but then about changing the "stats" for characters. As anyone who has ever played around with BUNGiE files can attest to, Bungie hasn't ever put the raw stats (other than current status) of a character in the save game. In Myth, it was in primary monolithic tag files (installed from the CD). Changing those for single player could be done (local folder overrode the monolithic), but would go out of sync if you tried playing with your changes online. So, in short, this guy has probably done NOTHING that he could post proof of. His "3 mod chips" are a load of crap, and everything that has come out of his mouth has been nothing but fabrication and prevarication. My $50 is quite safe, and he's a troll looking to feel special. Several of us have dangled bait hoping that he'd bite, but he's too stupid to even do that. In closing, I hope he just disappears. I don't want to have to continually flame his ass for pretending to be something or someone he is not. Troll? yes. Master Hexer? hardly. Capable of actually contributing some way of editing the save game file to give infinite life to the MC? not even if it were snowing in hell. In closing... the data that determines the MC's life is likely on the nice and locked DVD and is read. It is not likely to be copied to the HD at all, and if it is, attempts to change it will likely fail very very quickly. So, yeah - gonna have to wait for Mac/PC versions with proper tools (yes, we want these still) and then we'll be able to play Halo and its mods for the next several years. Hell, if Marathon is going on strong, after this long, surely Halo can! --El B™ | |
