Just on the licence question, the original 5.12 WebBBS scripts are available under a dual GPL and Artistic licence model, so that might be an option if we need to look at a fork. To be honest I'm not that keen to get into potentially long drawn-out conversations with the TetraBB folks who have gone with a more restrictive license.

I'm going to review the structure of the code some more over the weekend to get a better idea of how we could proceed with this, and the viability of just patching the existing Perl code versus a complete re-write :)
