But it strikes me that, if the industry has made these scale sacrifices in order to use standardized boxes, that must have meant there was a worthwhile savings in doing so, correct? Making it bigger may not cost very much in terms of materials (a premium folks like yourself would be glad to pay), but boxing and freighting moves from a "standard" size/format to a custom one. I understand the cost associated with precision, and the willingness of a few to pay it. The problem is, only a few are willing to pay it, so you don't tend to get to the economy of scale that you would if you are willing to accept 90%. That last 10% can get really expensive.
