In Response To: Covenant weapon sounds w/o wub is up (uberfoop) People that have actually played the game seem to praise the sound design. So far, I'm just not hearing it. Some of the human weapons sound great, and the Carbine sounds awesome, but everything else is just . . . I don't know. I'll only know for sure when I actually play it, but it seems like they've departed too much from how weapons used to sound. The Plasma Pistol especially sounds off. Too mechanical. Maybe these videos just aren't capturing the experience as much as actually playing the game, but something just bugs me about most of the weapon sounds. They seem to lack the punch of the weapon sounds of Reach. They sound weak and fake to me. I guess it's just nitpicking, but I don't know. It's the only thing about Halo 4 that bothers me so far (other than the announcer! I keep expecting to hear him announcing what weapon is picked up. It's just too much.).
