My thoughts are as undecided as : yours. Um...yeah... As abstractly as you answered an abstract topic I too will abstractly answer in an abstract manner to the abstract question as to why unggoy are abstractly looking like an abstract representation of...things. Finding another analogy for that, I'm kind of one the fence in regards to 343's in-universe explanation for unggoy looks. On one hand, I give them credit for doing so, at least in concept. On the other, I personally, was never really asking for one. Visuals change over time, simple as that. I can't help but feel that they're overcomplicating things in the biology issue. At least the Jackal/Skirmisher divide was clear-cut, no questions asked. Here however, I can't help but fear that they're writing themselves into a wall. And there's of course the look itself. I think it's more a case of experience affecting perception, but every time I see the mottled sangheili and unggoy skin, I can't help but think of the Locust. Unless the Covies are suffering from lambency or something I have to wonder if some influence was indeed derived and if so, why? Both series are Xbox exclusive and I don't think converging on each other would work in a business or lore sense. Like the less bulky unggoy masks though.
