With hidden : passages and invisible routes, hidden caches of weapons (Carney Holes) : with arbitarily obtuse weapon respawn timers and triggers? Well, because : once everyone has that knowledge, you haven't necessarily added anything : to the complexity, fun, skill gap and competitiveness of the game. It's : fake skill-gap dependant purely on the difference in knowledge - not how : well you can acquire, process or apply that knowledge. With this paragraph you've basically demonstrated you don't know what the argument is about. You think we're arguing for known weapon placements just because knowing them grants an advantage. That's not the point. The point is that random weapon spawns eliminates a layer of complexity from the game in the form of map control and artificially introduces possibly game-changing randomness into a system that has worked pretty well for 11 years without it. Competitive Halo games can revolve around power weapons, both before (controlling the spawn) and after (executing with the weapon) they actually spawn. I'm not looking forward to losing a close game because the game decided to randomly spawn the Sniper Rifle close to the enemy team for the last few kills.
