Very good, and I'm glad you found Extra Credits.

This post brings to mind a number of things that have been troubling me about the Reclaimer Trilogy. From what we've seen, the Master Chief is going to become a more fleshed-out character, we'll be exploring the legacy of the Forerunner, Humanity will be showing up, Cortana is going rampant, and we have a new enemy to top it all off.

None of this is, in principle, bad. I'm worried about the execution.
And yes, I have no hard data to back this up, just gut feeling.

I'm not worried that they'll reveal John 117 to be a clone of the original John 117, and that his whole life up to now has just been one unending lie. I have a little more respect for 343i than that. I'm worried that we'll start to glimpse a deeper side of John's character, get hints of him expanding his relationship with Cortana, and then it's dropped so we can gun down more aliens.

So, it would be a good idea for the writers and developers at 343i to sit down and think about what they are including in the game, how they are making time for it, and how it meshes with the other elements from the game.
Meh. Have been playing StarCraft II, so I have a lot of "This could have been done so much better" on my mind.
