That's definitely an important observation, and I should have made that connection. My late appearance in the Bungie community definitely does not serve me well. I've played Marathon only a little, but I definitely should have given these earlier games more credence.

I guess in the end it doesn't matter if Bungie ever wrote anything down about this, because so many of the employees at 343i are past Bungie employees, and I'm sure meetings were had on this subject matter before and during the transition, even if nothing was ever officially recorded. You can bet I'll be reading through all of those again one more time with this in mind...

(Also sorry Wu. I'm such a Bungie noob...)
