I at least knew the basics about NTSC and PAL (there was a page on some system differences in my bridge descent guide), but thanks.

Huh? I've never noticed any such stuttering.

Even if I perceive increased smoothness though, the game wouldn't necessarily be better to me. But it's not inconceivable that I could enjoy it as much as my PAL original after a bit of acclimatization. It would sure help if things become more H1-like by release date though (e.g. weapons sounds and appearances, and covie appearances). I'm not sure what's settled and what's awaiting change.
