I'm always trying to figure out some interesting or creative way to make the quiet scenes visually interesting. Sometimes though, just like the action scenes, you don't want to slow down a hasty argument with engaging visuals. It's weird and unique to the comic medium. You have to guess how long you want your reader to look at each panel, and then get that panel up to par. Yeah, 'flow' is something I spend a lot of time on, sketching and re-sketching...
