In Response To: On Campaign spaces for Multiplayer (Harmanimus) I am approaching this issue with much the same perspective. It seems that all the people growing shrill over this whole thing have overlooked the Firefight caveat (although someone mentioned it here on HBO in a different thread). You make a great argument for why campaign spaces are not necessarily an impediment to good multiplayer. And indeed, if the Reach arenas were designed from the start as tri-purpose maps, then they are certain to be that much more solid. Slight tangent: I really hope they can get some sort of matchmaking going for Firefight. If time saved on maps can get that done, then I will gladly take imperfect MP maps.
