In Response To: I know I'm the only one who cares.... (InnerRayg) Wow, that was bad. From your post, I at least expected the Spartans to die in justifiable ways... And for space combat to actually be *ta da!* in space. From what I gathered, the five Spartans were communicating through a group-wide comm channel. The Chief should have been able to voice his concerns instantly, as well as hear Solomon's intent to capture the target quickly. On a side-note, to make a ship invisible in space you only need one simple step - paint it black. The Rolling Stones know what's going on. Going to the trouble of creating light-negative technology for a spaceship seems kind of frivolous. Also, why couldn't they get a little closer to the fleet? Personally, I would have built up some speed, turned on the cloak and turned off every other part of the ship, and deployed the Spartans in the middle of the fleet. I am not going to start on how rediculous those Booster Frames are. I believe there's a thread already devoted to that. I think I'll stop by. I think they killed the two Spartans to "raise the stakes." Like that old Star Trek idea - you have one guy who is just a random, not even introduced, beamed down to the planet just to die. I really think that Spartans shouldn't be treated like that. I would have much preferred that a couple of ODST teams accompany three Spartans, and systematically get wiped out. Much more realistic for an ODST to have the gung-ho attitude that Solomon portrayed. And I thought that everyone had caught on to how movement in space works - It's been close to a decade since Firefly first appeared, and Battlestar was massive. Please, if anyone on this forum goes on to create Sci-Fi on TV or in the movies, don't have your spaceships fly like they have wings and atmosphere to move through!
