In Response To: What would the UNSC be considered politically? (J23) : I imagine some sort of imperialistic beneficial dictatorship, the : "imperialistic" part being the key idea the Innies hate. I dunno if I'd call it beneficial either; when you start digging into what exactly the UEG (United Earth Government) does, it's kind of disturbingly frightening. I mean, you take every extreme left and right wing fear ever and mash it into a big cake and you basically have the UNSC. Kidnapping children by the hundreds, sending even more into their deaths, human experimentation, complete and total censorship with copious amounts of propaganda, iron-fisted control over regions of space so far flung out that it's completely unreasonable, the list goes on and on. All we need now is some form of brutal martial law...wait, got that, Contact Harvest. Ok, just some racially motivated genocide and it's complete. Of course, you could consider the extreme xenophobic murder of the Covenant that part, but frankly, I'm pretty sure that's one transgression you can justify no matter who you are ;)
