I know there was an AI in The Cole Protocol that was running well after it's time, but she was on the edge of rampancy, and the Rubble was the only thing keeping her going. Serina would have nothing, floating in space for all that time. Plus, they were inside Covenant space, there's no guarantee the ship wasn't destroyed.
