In Response To: Microsoft [err Frankie] hints at 'HaloCon' event (geekinabox)
The thing is, HaloCon just wouldn't be HaloCon when Bungie decides to just drop Halo in the future and do new IP stuff. I guess it's all going to depend on how successful Halo Wars, Chronicles, and these other top secret games turn out, and if Bungie would be open to the idea of showing up continuously year after year forever and ever, even if they move on completely from Halo. I'm sure they would show up, but who knows for how long.
I suppose by that time, people growing up on all of these "new" Halo games wouldn't need to know or care about Bungie and if they were there or not. So, would a HaloCon really be for the fans, or would it be for Microsoft to try and make money by attempting to milk the cow as much as possible? Obviously a little bit of both, but what's the main intention coming from the people like Don Mattrick and Phil Spencer who cut big announcements short by 12 hours and then go about saying that Bungie employees just laughed it off?
