reconfigurable controls?

I'm curious if anybody knows if the Xbox version of Halo lets you reconfigure the controls to the players preference. I'm hoping for a setup just like in Red Faction on the PS2 which lets you remap all the buttons and also lets you choose what each analog stick does, giving the player the control layout that their most comfortable or familiar with. It would seem a given that this would be included in the options, but I'm concerned, due to my experiences with Oni on the PS2. Bungie did include a few different variations on the button layout, but you couldn't choose what analog stick did what. It made the game harder that it should have been, primarily due to the fact that you as a gamer were stuck with what the developer thought was the best configuration. Can anybody answer this question?
