In Response To: Re: The Library vs. If I had a Rocket Launcher (Urban Reflex) : In the Library, you really do get a sense : of being alone, fighting off wave after wave of this unstoppable alien : menace. The entire last 4 levels of Halo:CE helped drive that into the semi-subconcious. After 343GS, you don't get any backup except for the sentinals in The Library. And after that, you're all alone except for Cortana, (And Keyes, and Foe Hammer.) I'm not knocking Halo 2 and 3, but I think one of the reasons they were less-well received is because they didn't really reproduce that idea that you're the last one left. You almost never seem depressingly short of allies in gameplay or story.
