I wasn't part of this community during Brian's time here but I am truly touched that so many here have such wonderful memories of him and that he had so much support here.

At this moment, my mother-in-law is in the hospital dying from Liver cancer. The doctors have given her roughly one week to live. This horrible disease hit her just a few months ago and she has battled it as best as she can. I lost my own mother almost three years ago. My entire family was at her bedside when she passed away, she saw all of us into this world and all her children saw her depart this world. Perfect symmetry. That being said, cancer has a wonderful way of bringing people together. That may sound like a contradiction but it's really not. Share the positive moments, share the memories, but never forget them.

So wake up in the morning and give your mother a giant hug and a big sloppy kiss on her cheek.
Do something nice for her tomorrow and make some wonderful memories.
