In Response To: Re: When I get the soundtrack, immediately I will. (kapowaz) : I remember having similar concerns about the tracks on the Halo 2 OST, and I : was similarly vitriolic at the time. However, there's two things I think : are worth pointing out: first of all, this track was written by an : unsigned band who won a competition. They're almost certainly Halo fans : too, and it seems a bit excessive to call it 'filth'. It might not be to : your taste (and depending upon your viewpoint, it might not match the : mood of the rest of the soundtrack) but namecalling like that isn't : justified. Except unlike Incubus and Breaking Benjamin, this guy's music isn't even in the game (Thankfully.). The Blow Me Away instrumental was great, and although the lyrics weren't the greatest IMO, the music was still good. I had someone rip the audio files for it from the game and compile a really good sounding instrumental version of it, and I loved it. I've had no problem with Blow Me Away, except with it's overuse in seemingly just about every initial Halo 2 Trick/Glitch video on Mythica. Hurrrrg. As for Incubus, you had some of their music in the game, but the other Movements of the Odyssey that weren't... well, they did follow the style of the soundtrack, and blended in with the Marty music that we received. This LvUrFR8NZ stuff... it doesn't fit the style of the soundtrack at all. Not one bit. The music itself is disgusting, and the vocals don't help it one bit. Like I said, with Blow Me Away, the music was great, and fit the mood of the Banshee fights on The Arbiter quite well. The vocals weren't great, but weren't terrible either. This... no. The music is bad, and the vocals aren't any better. And I realize that this was an unsigned band. And that's exactly why they should *NOT* be on the soundtrack. :) Incubus and Breaking Benjamin were already signed. Bungie knew they had already established a fan-base, and I don't think that including a bit of their music was a bad decision. This, on the other hand... Wow. And, yeah, did Mothergoat not enter the contest? There is no way that this stuff is better than anything he could have made. Maybe he didn't enter, but... seriously, if this is what won... *sigh*
