(MthdDirector) Limited Liability Companies are a good way to split the financial stake of a company while shielding elements from each other (read also, shielding the money, from the day-to-day operations). They're pretty common in businesses, and a great way for MS to say "leave, but we still would like to benefit from all that you do". I'm sure at the crux of everything was MS's desire for Bungie to keep doing what they have been (read also Sci-fi FPS in the Halo universe), while Bungie has always shown a predilection towards keeping things fresh and (as noted by others), Halo was the first Bungie-developed trilogy ever. I hope the same "ZOMG NOE" crap doesn't spawn from this business move as came from them being bought by MS. I don't have enough energy to make very long, insightful posts anymore ;)
