In Response To: Uprising 1: Discussion*Spoilers* (The Cancers) I didn't like it. The art is superb. The dialogue and story are another matter entirely... Especially the dialogue. My biggest complaint is that it's so inane. Nothing any of the characters say really means anything, as they just banter back and forth about diddly squat in two sentences. The artwork told more story than the actual dialogue did. The characters could've been so much more fleshed out. Change the way they talk, give them some personality quirks... something. Anything! Instead they felt immensely bland and lifeless. Ackerson seems to be your typical 'spill the beans at the prick of a needle dude', but at least he had some character to him, cliched as it is. The other two... I can't even remember their names, don't have anything remarkable or noteworthy about them, other than the guy whines about things, and the girl is gung-ho. This is only the first issue though, so I'll go through a couple more to see if the characters begin to flesh out some. It's probably a bit much to expect well defined and fleshed out characters in the very first comic. So with luck that'll happen as the comic continues. Hopefully.
