In Response To: Halo 2 10/05/04 footage vs Halo 3 23/04/07 footage (Urban Reflex) The thing about Halo 2 was that it was already pushing the limits of the Xbox. After discovering the pop-in that was occuring in single-player, they realized they could do no more to push the grpahics of the game. With Halo 3, the situation is now different. Although I did a careers assignment a little while back on graphics programmers (a very hard job, the hardest programming job from what I hear) I'm still not sure if you can chalk up the quality to their work. To me, it seems like there's this proverbial 'knob' which they can turn up that will render "x amount of polygons" or do more anti aliasing, or whatever makes a game look cool and shiny, and then keep increasing this, until the 360 starts to lag, or multiplayer starts to lag, etc. Is it this easy? Or is this a misconception of how good graphics are produced? I'd really like someone who knows anything about graphics programming to answer this, even Bungie's "doodz" who do this job (very mysterious people I must say...)
