In Response To: Re: Location of shield meter on HUD (Evil Otto)
: Okay, folks, a word on the shield meter...
: So, as you all noticed, I moved it back to the top of your screen. There were
: several issues I had to solve with sticking it over the motion tracker.
: 1. It is below the center. Most action takes place in the top half of your
: screen.
: 2. HD sets with 16:9 aspect ratio exacerbate the problem by pushing it over
: to your far left periphery.
: 3. Tying it to the tracker made it look droopy and short (as Stuntmutt so
: eloquently pointed out )
: 4. The odd shape couldn't stand on it's own, visually, requiring the motion
: tracker to remain on screen even when MT was off.
: It works very well in the center. It's transparent enough that it doesn't get
: in your way, but when the shields are down, it's impossible to miss. :)
I prefer the location in Halo: CE over Halo 2, so I guess that the new placement can't be bad.
