In Response To: Ghosts of Onyx and Halo series speculation (Sharkface217) : Not much to add to previous GoO speculation threads (see bottom). However, I : propose a new theory that I'm sure somebody brought up a while ago but it : has since been disgarded. : What if the Flood are the Forerunner? : Although it does sound crazy, 343 Guilty Spark did say that the Flood are : vital to the Forerunner. Wouldn't the surviving members of a race be : pretty imporant? : In both the Halo games and Ghosts of Onyx, Sentinals are used to either : destroy the Flood (containment) or keep the Onyx Sphere safe. But what if : the job of Sentinals at Onyx are to not only prevent from external : threats, but also internal ones. What if the point of a "Shield : World" is not to protect those inside from a blast, but rather to : protect those outside from what is being contained within (think Pandora's : Box). The point of the Halo Installations is a sort of failsafe; if the : shield didn't work as planned, the sword is there to back it up. : I was going to post my other theory (that the Flood are the food of the : Forerunner), but this post is crazy enough. ^_~ The Flood arent foruners the humans are thats why only humans are called reclaimers and thats why onlyhumans can activate the halos another way to prove this is in GoO ash encounters a sentiel and the sentiel at first calls him a reclaimer but then relizes his brain had been altered and he was only now a subspeices not a true reclaimer so he then atttacked him
