Ok. Was a Star-Trek fan ages and ages back. And I mean, a huge Trekkie fan. For some reason, Fek'lhr, the mythical beast that guarded the Klingon's version of Hell... or Purgatory, called Gre'Thor, appealed to me. Fek'lhr was my Red Alert 2 online handle for the two years that I played online.

When I joined up here at HBO, I wanted something a bit more... different, but still true to Star Trek. So, I picked Gre'Thor, and added a 117 tag at the end, since I was a noobily unaware lad back in the day. So, Gre'Thor117 was my handle on HBO.

Then.... around June 10th, 2004, 5 days short of the greatest day of the year for me, I decided to drop the 117 tag. I think it had something to do with the whole Lakers game (they lost, btw)... and something about people using the 117 tag. So I got rid of some confusion. So, it was Gre'Thor for a while.

After yet another revision... around March 21st, 2005, when I was returning home from Luxembourg, I decided to do away with Gre'Thor altogether and swith to [AMS] GreyThor, the handle I use on the All Media Studios Forums. Yes, the tag [AMS] ACTUALLY means something significant to me. It's the other forum that I contribute to a lot. My handle there is GreyThor however, and for some nice coincidental continuity, GreyThor and Gre'Thor are awefully close to one another. I just guess my inspiration from altering my name a little comes from Louis Wu and the uploads of a new time frame for the Archives. I guess by changing the name a little, it becomes slightly easier to search for a very old post made by me some 2-3 years later, which is much easier.

Whenever I go out to travel, like Mexico for the Summer of '05, and Venezuela for the Summer of '06, I'd drop the tag [AMS] and the Thor and just have "Grey" with "en [whatever latin american country I'm currently in]". So, in the Summer of '05, I was "Grey en Mexico", and just recently back from Venezuela, I was "Grey en Venezuela". Upon arrival I'd switch back to [AMS] GreyThor.

I also got a list of backup names that I haven't been necessarily needing in a while too...

Right now, I'm quite comfortable with [AMS] GreyThor because I can usually identify my posts while scrolling quickly through the .pl format of this forum. Also, while performing searches, I usually just need to type in "AMS" and my posts turn up... and I'm #2 on the whole list of featured profiles on this page: http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?profiles

No digging for my profile necessary!
