In Response To: Re: Prophet of Truth and the Great Journey (Ragashingo) : Agreed. : Well assuming that Truth does have something planned he must think (or know)
: Yeah. The letter form Coral in the Conversations from the Universe booklet
the letter of coral is open ended. yes their is a forerunner installion on coral. however. there is no evidence to suggest that this installion is the ark and not just a regular forerunner installion. there was a forerunner installation on reach (according to the books) and there have been installions on many other planets as well. However in the game, by interpation of the cutscene, it is suggested that the ark is on earth or the surrounding area (ie the moon) or truths ship. this does not mean it is. but there is suggestive evidence, where as with coral, there is no suggestive evidence that that installion is anything but just a forerunner installion. : 343 GS seemed to think it was going to fire within moments of Keyes grabbing
: But doesn't that set off the other Halos? : Agreed. : If there had been the Humans would have been taken into the Covenant many
the reason why now verus anyother time. is because mercy is dying now. and time is short. even the elites wonder why the humans haven been given a chance to join. Either 1) the prophets have something against the humans, or 2) the prophets were just holding out a little longer, to crush our spirits a little more, making us more subsecting to joining. (the one thing humanity wants more than anything is an end to this war, humanity as a whole doesn't even know about halos existance, the prophets must believe they needed to crush human moral a little more.
there are just some many gaps in truth disbelieving. like his move for going to earth, and mercy saying something about killing all humans, and halo is going to be actived. when you combien those three, it creates problems. like if halo is going of, and truth knows the truth, then he knows everyone is going to die.
but why would truth need to go to earth is all the humans will die from halo. there is no point. unless you make it a point that the ark is supposed to save him. but if the ark is on earth and protects, we create do different problems, each based on the ark protects.
want to change up the meaning of mercys words, fine, but there will still be condrictiory gaps. the biggest being motive. since no logical motives can be drawn, do we plead truth to have sponatios mental insanity. this would make for a horrible story, with no suggestions or hints toward truth going mad, truth insanity would be spontaious, and having a character just spontaously go insane for the purpose of plot makes for a crappy plot and story. |
