: Now where'd I put that $800 I just had... Really. Tippman 98 C's cost way less than $200 these days, and asking for 600 more is definitely a rip-off. I'd rather get the military A-5 model than that. If you are really into it, go ahead and make your own version. Frankly, I don't see the use in that gun because it's extended and there doesn't seem to be a second grip handle. That decreases your ability to fire accurately dramatically. And if I were to develop a Halo 2 gun from my 98 Custom, I'd model it from the SMG, due to its relatively small size. You could mount a small, accurate barrel onto it and devote it to close incounter speedball, where a very small, very short barrel would do you the most good in tight quarters - especially in building matches. Test it out: Can you bring a 2 foot barrel 98 C to bear on a target before that target brings about a shorter 8 inch barrel to bear on you? The shorter barrel would win out, all the time, given the same conditions. You don't have to turn as much. Also, the SMG allows for a second grip, which is already included in the 98 Custom, so accuracy is just a great as a standard stock gun. I've been playing paintball for about four years now, among amateurs and proffesionals and won and lost among them too. I know what I'm talking about. :) However, I still think that Battle Rifle model is pretty cool. Now if there was a sniper-rifle gun with a bannana barrel, or an S-barrel... you could reach out and touch someone. Get a V-stand for it, hide in an azalea bush, and they won't see what's coming. However, if you'll do that, which I do, you'd need a short range paintball pistol for those that come too close to you and you couldn't get a bead on the target. When I go into the game: If it's short range, 98 Custom with a mid-sized barrel (14 inch). If it's Speedball, I go in with an 8 inch barrel. If it's long range, I swap out my barrel for my sniping barrel, and set up a system of relocation bases, and take along my paintball pistol. What's cool about my sniping barrel is that it has a sound suppression part hooked up too. To compensate for the lost velocity, I crank up my gun's velocity setting. Pretty sick, eh? | |
