I was thinking of the "knife fight" image that appears sometimes on halo.bungie.com. OTOH, a weapon that had absolutely no effect on the enemy probably wouldn't be in the game in the first place ;) But I'll remove anything that hasn't been explicitly said.

Yes, but its appearance doesn't seem to have changed, and that is the best picture of it we could find.

The tank was once described as a "scout tank", which implies low-powered weapons. But I'll take that out.

The self-propelled artillery theory was based on a series of posts by either Xian or Noctavis. It seemed to make sense at the time...
