Okay, now this is just cool. I just experimented with overshields, and found that they can take exactly seven (yay seven!) melee's worth of damage, or in other words, seven "points" from the chart. After seven hits with an SMG, the overshield was completely gone, and the regular shield was completely intact. This means that it takes exactly 3.5 hits to take down a shield, which was exactly what I had found with the sword on regular health, because the shield was completely gone but there was no blood. So now when I used the sword on the overshield, it went exactly like I thought it should. The first swipe took all of the green shield, the second swipe took all of the red, and the third swipe took all of the blue, with no blood, meaning no damage to health. So that appears to be how it works then. When melee attacking someone with normal shields, their shields take 3.5 points of the damage and their health takes 2.5 points of damage. An overshield simply adds two additional shields, or 7 points of protection. I'm growing incresingly confident that I've figured this thing out. |
