In Response To: Re: It still doesn't make sense though.... (ErraticAuto) : I like your idea about humans being the warrior race for the Forerunner. It
Yes that is a theory that I like to go with. Sometimes you just need numbers to get the job done. Humans (or that type of sentient being) could have the intelligence to make independent thoughts, yet have the work ethics to get a job done, whether as warriors or farmers. There is a given that Forerunners did not trust machines to do all the work as the role of 343 GS cannot allow him to activate Halo by himself. Humans, however, may still not make the best front line troops, cyborgs like the MC would do better, so I don't think all humans would have been warriors to the Forerunners but more in the role of an occupation race on worlds that the cyborgs shock troopers or their equivalent have already effectively removed the military might of any enemy. But I think I went off topic with this speculation. : Regarding the capacity of the Halos to deal with outbreaks WITHOUT vaporizing
I don't agree. These are details that aren't in the game but that does not mean they aren't there. It is like my old theory of no bathrooms for the Forerunners. We just have to ignore the fact we don't see any in the game. The only thing we know enough about is that Halo was fired and the Flood on Halo basically hibernated for 100,000 local years. We are led to believe this was an act of desparation, much like the signal in the first Alien movie that is thought to be a distress signal. It turns out it was a keep away signal, a warning of the alien parasites. Halo may be a last resort weapon, but in essence it was a big warning to sparefaring races to stay the hell away. The Covenant chose to ignore those warning for some reason as they should have known better. But then again the Prophets have a history of underestimating the risks, to the point of coming to Earth without preparation for the homeworld UNSC defense fleet to be here for example. |
