Or, maybe in the game you can A) shoot off thier masks or B) shoot their enviroment suits. Now that'd be cool, *BANG**BANG* "Choke""Choke".

Or maybe the grunts are just completly insane in this game and they take thier masks off to bite you when they are corner

Or (this is the big one) Maybe you go to the grunt home planet to convince them to fight against the rest of the covenant. They are the most neglected part of the ecovenant, and it wouldn't be surprising if they turned. Though i doubt we humans would accept the grunts after kickin our ass as part of the covenant. But they're only following orders, to quote "I'm only doing my job, Its not my fault if i love it" from some film somewhere that Red Dwarf 3 ripped the piss out of.
