In Response To: Re: Tracking rocket system (Bonekin) Okay, I've been reading every silly complaint thats came up on this board for some time now. Give it a rest! You call yourselves Halo fans? A true fan wouldn't sit here an criticize every move a developer makes to make their game more fun. Or in Bungie's case, more perfect. Not that anyone will believe me, they barely believe what Franky tries so hard to muster up for you guys each week, but I have played the multiplayer demo for Halo 2. I didn't just gung-ho it either. My friends and I tried hard to understand all of the new features. If you guys have any legit questions to ask, I'd love to answer. Send them to my e-mail at alias18band@hotmail.com or post 'em here! In regards to the rocket commotion here on the boards. Yes, rockets have a tracking mode, but here's how it works: You have to zoom in, and then keep a bead on your target for a second or so before you fire to enable the tracking. This is easier to do on vehicles, but fire up on Halo 1 and try to keep a steady bead on someone with the RL. It's not all that easy, especially if the players have any skill at all. This is where the balance kicks in. Ever had a time where you've fired a rocket at someone, only to have them stupidly continue to riddle you with bullets in the seconds before they are sure to die? It sucks! On the other end, it sucks to be that dude with and AR or a Pistol, trying desperatley to soften up your opponent before your enevitable demise. But... What if you actually had a chance to live? You only have to run like hell to earn it! And as the dude with the RL, they can't shoot at you if they're running for their lives! It's an excellent balance. Especially with people running around like maniacs with plasma swords and double weapons looking for a steady target. I would love to see people try to camp in this one! | |
