Did Alice Bring Explosives?

Miranda. The name sticks to the jaws and rolls through the mouth, but we who are not of Bungie know not Miranda, except that “Miranda strapped a bomb to the Master Chief’s back and shoved him down a hole.” We have speculated about this “Miranda,” drawing from Shakespeare and our prior knowledge of Bungie games, but we have not yet speculated enough.

Most, if not all, have assumed, up to this point, that Miranda is a female, perhaps named after the character of Miranda in The Tempest. It certainly sounds female, doesn’t it?

But what if it isn’t? What if it was a reference to something... a little later? Something which might fit better into what we know of the Halo story line, perhaps.

Where does this path lead, and why were we shoved down this rabbit hole with a bomb on our back?
