The exact same way you'd join to talk, which I believe has been covered clearly enough. Just make sure you're actually playing, so you don't get counted as "abusing" the server. :-)

Also, the chatter is MUCH more rewarding with more people in it, so don't judge it too harshly if you happen to show up with only two people present.
