Most of you will : probably recall that there were some problems finding a new colo because : of my budget and things like that. : Well, I have found a new colo company, but here's the thing: I don't have : the box back yet. There are a number of reasons for this, most of which : aren't very pleasant, and I'm not going to elaborate on them right now. I : can't really do a whole lot until I get the box back, so I'm kind of : stuck. : So what's probably going to happen is that I'll buy a new box, colo it, and : then if/when I get the old box back I'll just sell it or something. This : will take some time, but it's a lot better than waiting to get the old box : back (which is something that might very well never happen). : I want to thank all the folks who have e-mailed and called offering : assistance. Many were a bit out of my price range, a few had no idea how : big of an undertaking mythica is (5GB/month doesn't quite cut it -- : mythica uses that much in an hour), and there were several quotes that : were useful to me. Useful or not, though, I really appreciate it. I'd also : like to thank all the folks who have stepped in and provided hosting in : the interrim. : Whenever mythica does come back, there will be some changes. It'll have a lot : less total capacity than before (30Mb/sec to start, down from 100Mb/sec), : most importantly. There will also likely be a cap on how fast any one : client can download from the server (something in the range of 1.5Mb/sec), : and I'm not going to let single clients download several gigabytes in a : day as has frequently happened in the past. None of this is final yet, but : it should give an idea of what will happen. : At any rate, that's what's happening.
