| Best G3 upgrade for Halo? | |

I have a Power Computing 150MHz 604 PowerCenter. I want to get a G3 upgrade now (mostly for gaming, like Oni & Halo). My basic yardstick is $250 for 250MHz G3 with 512K of cache running at half-speed. Now I can actually prob afford $300+ here, and I see that I could go in various directions from my baseline...increase chip speed, increase cache size, or increase cache speed, or some combo of all that. What do people think would be best? And is there a specific card or company you'd recommend or de-recommend? I was reading recently how the original design intent of the G3 was not that it was going to be a staple desktop processor...so it didn't get as good a floating-pt unit as the 604 or the G4...if games are going to use floating-pt more heavily, this makes me think the most important spec for me to increase here would be cpu speed. Comments anyone?
