Bungie is usually really good at keeping the min. requirements donw real low but still having their games look beautiful on high end systems (hell, I could run Myth : TFL on a 66 mhz machine, but it wasn't much to look at). And we've been told that the graphics and effects on Halo are "scaleable", so I think there will be a pretty wide range between the min. requirements to play the game, and the requirements that the game will look best at.

However, having said that, I think that without a shadow of a doubt, a 3D card will be a must have - probably at least a voodoo 2 (although as I've said above Bungie are good at this - it might be even lower than that, but I doubt it). I'm actually well overdue on getting a new computer and am currently sallivating over the 500 mhz G4.

So for me, the dream system for running Halo would be (being a Mac user myself of course) :-

• 500 mhz G4 (you need that processing power for all the physics calculations, and it'll be cheaper by the time Halo comes out)

• That new 256 bit ATI card (forgotten the name of it).

OR a Voodoo 5.

• ISDN connection (oh yes!)

Anyway, what was this post about? Oh yeah... YOU ARE DEFINITELY GOING TO NEED 3D ACCELERATION, BETTER GET SAVING!!!
