They've always had those tubes looping over their : shoulders, but in M1, they appeared to be organic. In MI, they're fairly : obviously artificial breathing apparati. Breathing aparatus allows one to breath in an alien atmosphere. However, exposure to vacuum would make ones bodily fluids boil PDQ, and I can't see any reason why this would not be true of ETs. Riddle me this: if fighters are vacuum-enabled, why do troopers need visors?
