One of the main reasons why most vidding is done fists-only is that you usually only have your fists and a pistol to work with, and the fists are much more powerful when used properly; also, the pistol doesn't have enough ammunition to be used for an entire level. If one were to play the game straight through from the beginning, he could generate some really cool films, but there would probably also be long stretches of nothingness in-between battles.
And I know this technically "cheating" (at least where vidmastery is concerned), but don't saved games store replay data, so that films from a saved game will start at the beginning of the first level? If someone is dedicated (but not THAT dedicated) to making films with good gun combat, but lacks the patience/resolve/mad skillz to play through the entire game without dying (in the game or in reality)/giving up/being dragged screaming away from the computer, they could save their games (at non-excessive intervals) and still be able to have a complete movie of the game. Of course, this should only be used with really good films that exhibit something beyond regular gameplay.
