Ther's another option I can think of: PC Vidmasters are simply not explicitly identified as such, which would be the correct platform-neutral way of handling it (assuming there are no real cross-platform issues with M2's film files). Any single Vidmaster on the page who has only ever done M2 levels just might be a PCer. Of course I have no evidence for this, just trying to think positive...

I suspect the real answer is unfortunately your #2: M2 on the PC never had the rabid following it has on the Mac, probably because there were PC games out at the time of its release (such as Duke Nukem 3D and Quake) that were far more impressive, superficially.
