You and Durandal

i just have a few points to make:

Don't you think that if you are a cyborg you might still be alive yet imobile after you get shot? I mean regular people don't die immediately after they get shot unless it is to a vital organ. They usually just go unconcious because they are in so much pain. Maybe as a cyborg you don't feel pain, so you just lie there on the ground with nothing but your indestructable cyborg bones left. And if your bones have been replaced with metalic ones then maybe your skull will be enough to brace the impact of a bullet and keep your eyes in tact.

Yes. I think that you being destiny/a god is because of the pattern buffers. In Marathon's story Bungie seems to enjoy giving explanations for some of the most unrealistic aspects of games. You are a cyborg(possibly of j'jarro orgin) and you have the capability to interface with pattern buffers. Because you can buff your pattern you can die an infinate number of times. Thus you control the future. You can try an infinate number of options until you find one that works. Then you take that one. Because of this you are destiny...or at least in control of all but one part of it. When you come the close of the universe you will relive it over and over again for eternity.

Why do you and Durandal get along so well? Or at leat why do you obey him? Because you are very much alike. You both are striving for existance whether Durandal knows it or not. You both have nothing to wait for but the end of the universe. Basically Bungie wrote a story about two friends who experience everything together, they are very dependant upon eachother, and they both learn together. Durandal lears of freedom and thus goes rampant. Because of this Durandal is able to teach you about yourself. Durandal learns that he is near immortal and often implies that you will eventually die. But by the end of the story he realizes that you really will live forever. Beyond him. You will both go on to the close of the universe and Durandal will stop, but you will have used the pattern buffer and you will go back to that pattern buffer over and over again for eternity.

When you reach the close of the universe there are a few possibilities. You will keep going back to the pattern buffer you last used or something more complicated. You will reach the close of the universe and go back to the pattern buffer you last used, but instead you keep buffing your pattern as close as you can to the close of the universe. Eventually you learn to directly connect yourself to a pattern buffer and you get the time between the buff and the close of the universe so small that even your cyborg part can't concieve it. At this point there are two things that could happen. You could get lost in eternal thougt and you would eventually create your own universe...or you could cause the universe to reopen. Similar to certain bugs on a computer. These bugs cause the computer to repeat a function over and over again and it gets gradually faster as it goes. Eventually it does it so fast that it can't concieve the time between the repetitions. So it doesn't know what to do next thus it instantly reopens. Like the Big Bang. The universe is an eternal flow of time. As long as time exists that is. Technically time is the measurment of nothing. Anything that goes forever is also nothing...or something that never goes.

I realize that much of this may be confusing or seem impossible...but that's what you get for trying to explain infinity.
