Isn't that kind of an oxymoron? :P You could be right, there is a lot of evidence for the Jjaro being a collective. If they were similar to the S'pht (properly, if the S'pht are similar to them) then they would have a shared intelligence but also some (residual?) self-awareness and a concept of "me", like the individual S'pht characters we meet.
