: That would be simplest theory (Occam's razor). Unfortunately in this timeline, the main character originally left Tau Ceti with the Pfhor and was a part of Tycho's mutiny. So, unless their authorization keys remained unchanged all the way since Tau Ceti this doesn't seem to be the case. Also, the humans haven't just arrived. They've been there since Durandal was still alive, presumably since he evacuated them to the surface, so at least a couple weeks. They also have captives and ammunition stores from their battles against the Pfhor, and it is described as their base, all of which implies some level of rootedness. It all comes off like they've been here awhile. I think there's definitely something else going on with this 7a authorization. : But let’s notch it up a little by speculating that it is Durandal’s primal
The interpretation I had was that Durandal's primal pattern was dormant data. Not active algorithms capable of doing something like that. I mean Durandal isn't alive inside the main character's head, and there's no indication he has access to Durandal's data. Also, due to the absence of any kind of "spurious interpret" or interjection of green text in the Tfear terminal, I don't think there's anything suggesting that the main character overrides Tfear's coordinates. I still think the most likely thing with Converted Church is that the white Thoth terminal was intended to be the canonical exit.
