That word is actually spelled 'Flechette' (two 'T's, not three) and the pronunciation is vaguely French, which makes sense given that the word comes from the French 'fléchette', which means something like 'dart'. A flechette is a kind of projectile, which is pointed and has a vaned tail sort of like an arrow. You can read more about them on Wikipedia.
