: I guess, but that means you can include just about every previous generation
: and older Windows game with co-op support on your site. To me an OS X site
: means written for OS X, not hacked to mostly or sort of run. ::shrug:
That would be either marketing or ideology, and I'm not particularly interested in either (at least, not as it applies here).
Besides, a look through WineHQ and the Porting Team database indicates that lots of games have not had convenient wrappers made for them, and the support forum indicates that even when they are, people have problems getting the games to run or getting them to perform well. Then co-op cuts down those numbers again.
Sure, stuff that is truly native on OSX would get a priority, so all the Bungie stuff on r.net will get linked there as well, but there are good games that have coop I want to play and I can now, because of WINE and Cider-- like Unreal 1, like Black Mesa Source, and I wanted a place to organize those. Since I don't run Windows anymore and I need to be able to make these games work on OSX in order to play them, it seemed a natural way to organize the site's focus.
: I stand corrected! I've played through (or halfway through) that game many
: times over the years, and never noticed it. Good catch.
