I like the idea a lot. Especially since it would mean access to so many assets at once for map making. I'm a little skeptical about how things would work after Infinity, though, basing the scenario on what choices are made. I would almost prefer the ability to select a scenario after Infinity through some sort of teleporter hub. Doing it the other way seems like messing with the fiction even more than usual.
: Do you all like the idea of a project that merges the Bungie's three original
: scenarios with certain venerable scenarios (if permission were given by
: creators) and a number of linking maps into a single coherent game.
: This would allow map makers to indiscriminately mix whatever monsters and
: textures they wished. It would also allow netmaps around two dozen
: different weapons.
: The combined scenario would begin with Bungie's work and then branch, in a
: non-linear way, into third player scenarios after Infinity. For example,
: staying loyal to Durandal would lead to Rubicon while failure to contain
: the w'rcknter's (however they're spelled) would lead to RED.
: Do you think this project would be the worst horror to befall marathon since
: Microsoft annexed Bungie or will it lead to a new age of glory? If you
: like the idea would you be interested in contributing mml scripting,
: shapes work or map making?
